multiple desktops

I haven't tried Vista myself, but one feature I would like to see (if it is not already there) is the ability to have more than one desktop. This has been common in linux/unix desktops for some time, and really does give you more room to work. Also, it prevents the taskbar at the bottom from getting filled up.
The multiple desktop 'powertoy' for windows XP was halfway there, but unfortunately, programs from all desktops appeared on the taskbar at the bottom, defeating part of the object of having more than one desktop (as only programs on the current desktop should be shown on the taskbar, in my opinion).

in windows XP, some Video Card Driver Software usually has some sort of multiple desktop features, although i don't use these multiple desktop schemes i believe they are more robust than the XP powertoy.
vista drivers will have the same features.....

the feature you're talking about is multiple monitor support, where your one desktop is extended into other monitors. what Tom is talking about is having multiple desktops on one monitor, and being able to switch between them with a simple key combination. so when you're in the office playing solitaire, you can quickly switch to the other desktop showing what you're "working" on.

i was talking about multiple desktops on one monitor.
Nividia = Nview (program that creates multiple desktops)
Ati =ATI Desktop. (program that creates multiple desktops)
So to claify I was talking about the same thing as TOM.
